Today we saw the launch of Chief Medical Officer, Professor Dame Sally Davies annual report ‘Generation Genomes’. Professor Davies champions the current rate at which technology is making huge advances in providing tailored healthcare for rare diseases which equates to 1 in of 2,000 or less of a population. The report is very timely and lends itself well to pushing the 100,000 genomes project at the forefront of future medicine “This technology has the potential to change medicine forever”.
By encouraging medical professionals and patients that the future is in genomes helps us in recruiting more participants to get involved in helping us reach our aim of sequencing 100,000 genome samples and enabling us to continue our work of providing more accurate, faster and personalised medicine with better outcomes.
